What Dermal Filler is Right for Me?

When trying to decide which dermal filler is right for you, it’s important that you go to a medical spa you trust. We’re Halo Med Spa, and we offer natural-looking fillers that are going to make your appearance more youthful and refreshed. Dermal fillers, in general, are a great way to restore lost volume and plumpness to the face for a younger appeal. As we age, our collagen and elastin production go down leading to sagging and wrinkles. By filling in these spots with just the right dermal fillers, you can achieve a renewed, fresh appearance.

Dermal Fillers

Natural-looking fillers, like Juvederm and Restylane, are used strategically on the face to fix:

  • Crow’s feet
  • Smile lines
  • Brow furrows
  • Gabeller lines (lines that appear between your brows and look like vertical “11s” on the forehead)

These dermal fillers give our face more volume — restoring the youthful appearance we lose over time. The newly added volume smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles.

Juvederm and Restylane are made of hyaluronic acid — a moisture binder and a substance that your body naturally creates that lubricate the joints, muscles, bones, and tissue. It’s an ideal substance to be the foundation of dermal fillers since it’s very well-tolerated by the body.

So the question becomes: which dermal filler do you want to use? It all depends on which parts of the face you are looking to treat. Halo Med Spa offers two families of dermal fillers, Juvederm and Restylane, and we’re more than happy to guide you on the best treatment for you

Juvederm

Juvederm is a smoother gel form of dermal filler that diffuses more readily into the tissues under the skin. It creates a soft, subtle, and even look and is great for:

  • Adding volume to the cheeks
  • Fixing nasolabial folds around the nose
  • Smoothing lip lines
  • Plumping up lips
  • Erasing finer lines

Restylane

Restylane, on the other hand, is a more granular style of dermal filler. It tends to stay in place better in a cohesive way. Restylane can build up essentially more volume than Juvederm for larger loss of elasticity or sagging problems. The places that Restylane is ideal for are all the same places that Juvederm is used, but in addition, it can treat more sunken and deflated areas of the face. This includes:

  • Cheeks
  • Mid-face
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Lips
  • Hand rejuvenation
