ProFractional™ Repair Laser – New Ground-Breaking Treatment for Your Skin

Sciton has developed a fractional laser skin resurfacing  technology called ProFractional,  This  ProFractional Repair laser skin resurfacing technology offers a painless solution for  improving acne scars and aging skin. The ProFractional laser heats tissue to a depth that effectively treats wrinkles and tightens the skin. I have used ProFractional alone and combined with Exilis to provide results comparable to deep laser skin resurfacing with significantly less recovery time.  I’m getting excellent results treating acne scars and aged skin with the ProFractional laser.  Many of my patients are surprised by how little it hurts when preceded by topical anesthetic cream. I can control the depth of treatment allowing me to treat deep into the dermis which is ideal for acne scars. All my patients have noticed improved skin tone, texture and smoothness. Patients can see improvements in ice pick and depressed scars after just one treatment.

The Sciton MicroLaserPeel™ is ideal for patients with little downtime to spare. This peel removes fine lines and wrinkles plus leaves fresh youthful skin in its wake. Known as the weekend procedure with immediate, lasting results, this Erbium Yag laser is one of the foremost precision lasers available today. The precision inherent in this Sciton head reduces any discomfort for perfect coverage and uniform ablation that was not possible with other laser systems.

This refined erbium laser allows for an almost infinite choice in how gentle or aggressive you laser peel will be. Each level provides a different end result, adjustable to fit the lifestyle needs and end desires of the patient. The Sciton Erbium Laser System allows for treatment depths as minimal as 4 microns (similar to a glycolic acid peel) up to 120 microns (full resurfacing effect.)

Broad Based Light (BBL™) has now proven to be helpful in the treatment of acne. In many cases, this offers an alternative to oral medications such as Accutane or long-term antibiotics. The shorter wavelengths of BBL™, in the blue-light spectrum, attack p-acne bacteria on the surface and in the sebaceous gland. Along with a home skincare program designed for acne-prone skin, you can experience significant long-term clearance.

What options do I have besides oral medications?

Broad Based Light (BBL™) has now proven to be helpful in the treatment of acne. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels also offer alternative ways to remove persistent and stubborn acne.

How does the BBL™ treatment work?

Sciton BBL™ is a FDA approved treatment that utilizes a blue filter to selectively target the p-acnes bacteria that are partially responsible for acne in the skin.  A 2nd pass with a red filter helps to reduce redness and deeper acne lesions.  A third filter is used to minimize sebaceous gland activity associated with oil production.

What is the treatment like?

A thin film of gel is applied to your skin, followed by the BBL treatment. Most patients have minimal discomfort. Treatment sessions last 20-30 minutes.

What should I expect after treatment?

After treatment is completed, some may experience temporary reddening and and minimal swelling of the acne, and surrounding skin for 1-2 days. This is transient and usually associated with minimal to no downtime. Makeup can be applied immediately, if desired.

How many treatments will I need?

To achieve maximum improvement with BBL™, a series of 6 treatments every 2 weeks is most effective. Most patients will need periodic touch up treatments ranging from monthly to every 6 months, depending on your acne type and severity.

The ProFractional™ laser uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin invigorate the body’s natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities.

By delivering energy deep into the dermal tissue, fractional resurfacing selectively injures collagen molecules, causing wound-healing response and stimulating fibroblast activity. Fibroblasts turn on new collagen production, rejuvenating the collagen matrix and plumping the skin from the inside out.

Microdermabrasion is a great solution for minimizing the results of aging. Skin will appear softer, smoother, brighter, clearer, fresher and younger looking.

Halo Med Spa has chosen the Diamond Microdermabrasion Skin Resurfacing System because it offers superior results in skin resurfacing. DiamondTome has revolutionized microdermabrasion by eliminating the powders and crystals, thereby making it the gentler resurfacing system, even at its highest setting. This system produces more dramatic results than any other microdermabrasion system in the market today. Across the board, it is great for sun damage, age spots, blotches, acne, scars, oily skin, and overall skin health.

Diamond microdermabrasion is a method of skin exfoliation that uses a specially designed instrument, a diamond-encrusted applicator tip, to remove the outer dermal layer. The device projects very fine diamond particles onto the skin to clean the pores, loosening dead skin cells before suctioning them off, while massaging and stimulating the tissue beneath the skin to promote oxygenation and blood circulation. The process of diamond microdermabrasion is quick and generally painless.

It is a gentle exfoliation. Removing the dead skin will aid in the penetration of skin care products and make-up will go on much more smoothly. It works on all skin types and colors, producing a more toned and youthful appearance and helping counter the effects of aging, disease and/or sun damage. Additionally, it aids in decreasing the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation and photo-damage, as well as fine lines, wrinkles, and shallow acne scars. Down time is minimal and skin recovers fully within 24 hours, leaving it softer, smoother and rejuvenated.
